Abstract

The article presents Burmese literature written in the form of manuscripts on palm leaves, folded paper books and ‘World's Biggest Book’. The National Library, Rangoon University Library and U Pho Thi Library at Sadhammajotika Monastery in Thaton were described. The results of research on public libraries published by The Asia Foundation, Myanmar Book Aid and the Preservation Foundation in 2014 were used to outline the situation of libraries in this country.
