About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Library and Education (Biblioteka i Edukacja) is a biannual open access journal published by the Main Library of the Pedagogical University of Cracow. It publishes articles, reports from conferences and symposia, reports from other interesting events, reviews and discussions of selected publications on information science and librarianship and related fields. The journal is addressed to librarians who work in different types of libraries, specialists in information science and library science, students and anyone interested in problems of education in the library. The journal articles discuss different aspects of the educational function of libraries and the relationship between library and teaching.

Themes of the journal:

  • innovations and new technologies in educational activities of libraries,
  • problems of education in libraries and issues of librarian education,
  • various forms of training for library users,
  • promotion of the educational function of libraries,
  • special and historical collections in the field of pedagogy and education in libraries,
  • digitization of pedagogical and educational collections in libraries.
